Get to know me
I am very passionate about helping participants and their families navigate through the everyday difficulties they experience. Behavioural difficulties present themselves in various forms and under certain conditions. I like to take an objective view of the situation and analyse the environments which contribute to behavioural difficulties, so that person centred strategies can be implemented that usually lead to a reduction of behaviours of concern, as such improving the quality of life for the participants and their families or persons involved.
I have extensive experience with participants on the complex pathway, presenting dual (or a range of) diagnoses who exhibit severe and challenging behaviours, as well as participants with forensic backgrounds. I have also assisted many individuals to transition from long term institutionalised settings to community living (Supported Independent Living - SIL).
My main objective is to reduce or eliminate the use of restrictive practices while providing support to individuals and their families.
