Get to know me
I am originally a psychology graduate from UWA who has always had a passion for understanding how people think, feel and behave. After university, I started as a support worker in NDIS, transitioned to a support coordinator and about 2.5 years ago, into behaviour support. As a result, I feel like I have seen NDIS support from all angles, and now have a deep understanding of the NDIS system.
My area of expertise is supporting and advocating for autistic children with demand avoidance or pathological demand avoidance (PDA) profiles. It is a behavioural presentation that is so limited in its research, but one that so many families are struggling with on a day to day basis.
It is the highlight of my work seeing families have that 'somebody finally gets it' moment, when we discuss demand avoidance and its challenges.
